From the Principal!

Welcome to March, Rowe Families!

We hope this new month has been a positive welcome for you all.

2026-2027 Pre-K Pre-Registration Closing Soon!

Just a reminder that if you, or anyone you know, has a Pre-K-aged child and is interested in being considered through the lottery process for public Pre-K, registration must be complete by the end of the day Tuesday, March 3. The lottery will take place on Friday, March 6, at which time families will be notified of an offered spot or a place on the wait list. You can find the pre-registration link HERE.

Spring Conferences

Teachers will begin reaching out in the coming weeks to begin scheduling our spring conferences with you all!  We are so excited to discuss your child's learning and progress this year with each of you.

Pre-K and Kindergarten Screenings

Each May, we hold our Pre-K and Kindergarten screenings for incoming Rowe learners. If you have an incoming Kindergarten learner who is not currently attending Pre-K at Rowe, it is very helpful to enroll them as soon as possible so that you do not miss upcoming communications regarding screening and other transition information. For incoming Pre-K learners, screening information will be shared upon acceptance into our Pre-K program.

Please never hesitate to reach out with any questions!

Update from the Health Clinic

February was Children's National Dental Health Awareness Month!

We are proud to have offered the opportunity for Rowe School students to participate in another successful dental clinic this year. February was Children’s National Dental Health Awareness Month, but it is important to remember good oral health hygiene throughout the year.

We have sent home a free toothbrush, toothpaste sample and teeth brushing chart to help encourage your student and family to adopt this important habit at home. The teeth brushing chart also includes some helpful tips on keeping your child’s teeth healthy.

Cold and Flu Season Reminders

Cold and Flu season is among us! As a reminder from the health office, please keep your child home for 24 hours from any fever, vomiting or diarrhea to help reduce the spread of infection. It is also a good idea to keep your child home if they are having a severe, nonstop cough as this is a significant disruption to the student's learning so will likely end up with a call home for pick up. If your child has a fever above 100.4 for over 3 days, it is recommended to reach out to their primary care provider for further guidance. Please don't hesitate to reach out to the Rowe school nurse, Pamela Christensen, with any questions or if your child has been diagnosed with a contagious illness.

Points With the Principal

This month we discussed "Supporting Readers, Writer's, and Mathematicians at Home". Ms. Stone, our Lead Math and Literacy Teacher, engaged families in thinking about the development of reading and the main developmental priorities to support literacy and numeracy growth at home.

Our topic next month is Anxiety in Children, with special guests Mrs. Dunn, Rowe School Counselor, and Em, Rowe School Social Worker! This event is scheduled for Monday, March 16 from 8:40-9:40 in the Rowe Library. You can RSVP HERE.

Future topics, dates/times, and links to RSVP can be found on THIS DOCUMENT. We hope you might be able to join us!

PTO Gather & Greet

Join us on Tuesday, March 3rd for our monthly casual coffee hour at Fox & the Fiddle (inside 317 Main) any time after 8:45 am. If you're hoping to learn more about the organization or would just like to chat with some other parents and community members, we hope you'll join us. Drop in, grab a coffee from the cafe, and pull up a chair!

Gather & Greet is a recurring event on the first Tuesday of each month, so even if you can't make it this month, we hope to see you in April!

March PTO Meeting

Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, March 19th at 7 PM in the YES library. Our meetings are open to everyone, and we'd love to see you there!

Volunteer with the PTO!

We're always looking to welcome new volunteers, and we'd love to hear from you! Please fill out the PTO-specific volunteer interest form, or reach out directly at yarmouthpto04096@gmail.com.

Glow Run Event (5th-8th graders) is almost here!

If you have a Yarmouth 5th through 8th grader in your life, please encourage them to sign up for the Glow Run, which is happening Thursday, March 5th! And if not, consider this a glimpse into your future. ;)

The Glow Run is the largest fundraiser of the year for the PTO. Our goal for this year is $25,000--and we're already 20% of the way there! Raising these funds allows Yarmouth students of all ages to go on field trips, experience incredible guest speakers, benefit from playground improvements, and have access to other educational enrichment opportunities that fall outside of the school budget.

Students in fifth through eighth grades collect pledges for their participation and, based on the number of pledges they gather, can earn fun incentives which include: the opportunity to silly string their teacher or principal, board game time at the end of the day, homework passes, and more!

On the day of the event, 5th-8th graders are invited to the Harrison Middle School gym in shifts to run, walk, dance or wheel their way around. The gym will be transformed with atmospheric lighting, fun music, and bright neon colors to create an unforgettable experience for students. They'll celebrate their successes as they take to the lighted track to get ready, get set, and GLOW!

The Glow Run is a wonderful tradition that engages kids to build community among their classes, raise funds for their schools, and set and achieve personal goals. Thanks so much for your support!
