From the Principal!

Happy May, Rowe Families!

This year continues to sail by. It is hard to believe we only have 32 days of the 2025-2026 school year remaining. While that sounds like a short time, there is still a lot left to achieve! We continue to appreciate your partnership and all the ways this amazing community supports our schools and staff, and depend on it more now than ever as we finish our school year in the strongest way possible.

I have just a few notes and celebrations as we look ahead to the remainder of May!

Placement

As you are aware, our team has been working hard to create balanced and positive classroom communities for next year. There is an opportunity to learn more about it with our next and final Points With The Principal event of the year, scheduled for May 18 at 8:40. If you are interested and able to attend, you can RSVP to this event HERE.

Volunteering: Field Trips and Special Events!

The last weeks of the school year often bring exciting field trips and events such as field day, which present with various opportunities to volunteer. In order to participate in these events, all volunteers must be approved. If you are hoping to help out in any capacity, we encourage you to complete the volunteer form now (if you have not already done so) so you are ready to go!

Highlights From April!

Welcome to the Building Bay!

You may be hearing about the awesome new addition to our playground, the Building Bay! This is the new loose-parts play portion of our playground, made possible by the efforts of the Yarmouth Education Foundation. Rowe learners have had so much fun creating, imagining, collaborating, communicating, and problem-solving! What a treat to see where their imaginations take them each day. You may also have heard about the new playhouse currently under construction. We are excited for learners to be able to add this into their creative play soon!

Kindergarten Color Dance!

On Friday, we held our third annual Kindergarten Color Family Dance! Pictured here you can see Mrs. Elder and Mr. Abbott joining in the fun leading the chicken dance! What a wonderful evening of fun and connection. We appreciate all who were able to attend as well as the generous donations toward our school spirit fund.

First Grade Leaders: Clean Air Walk!

Our Captain's Crew was at it again! One of our leadership groups were determined to help keep our air clean. To meet this goal, they designed a walk to school day. As you can see, many of our Rowe learners and their families participated! This was such a fun way to start our day together!

Update from the Health Clinic

Cold and Flu season is among us! As a reminder from the health office, please keep your child home for 24 hours from any fever, vomiting or diarrhea to help reduce the spread of infection. It is also a good idea to keep your child home if they are having a severe, nonstop cough as this is a significant disruption to the student's learning so will likely end up with a call home for pick up. If your child has a fever above 100.4 for over 3 days, it is recommended to reach out to their primary care provider for further guidance. Please don't hesitate to reach out to the Rowe school nurse, Pamela Christensen, with any questions or if your child has been diagnosed with a contagious illness.

Art to Remember Fundraiser

Thank you to those who have already ordered! It's not too late to capture your child's creativity! The ordering window has been extended to 5/10.

We are partnering with Art to Remember again this year to celebrate your children's art and raise funds that benefit our students including field trips, classroom enrichment, and special events! (You may remember this as Silver Graphics.)

Your Rowe & YES children worked hard on a creative and colorful art project in their art classes which will be used to customize products! Here's the link to order! All shipping will be direct to your homes.

As in the past, you also have the opportunity to upload your own art or photographs to customize products by selecting "upload" near the bottom of the page and following the directions from there.

Are you a family with older students interested in continuing your collection and ordering these products? You can! Visit the website at www.arttoremember.com and select "Shop" at the top. A banner in the center will prompt you to add a piece of artwork for custom products. From there you can upload the file containing the (edited) artwork. Once you have placed your order please email our representative hollyb@arttoremember.com with your order confirmation code and let her know your order is to benefit the Yarmouth Elementary School fundraiser!

Volunteer with the PTO: 2026-2027 Elections held this month!

Are you looking to get more involved with the PTO during the next school year? Our annual elections are coming up and we're actively seeking board members, committee chairs, and volunteers! Board members are elected positions, and elections will be held at the PTO meeting on May 21st at 7pm in the YES library.

If you're a caretaker of a student in the Yarmouth school system, you're automatically a part of the PTO and eligible to run for any seat. For more information about anticipated openings and other role information, please reach out to Allison Cole, current PTO president, at yarmouthpto04096@gmail.com, or Emily Bates, volunteer coordinator, at emilyopoole@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you!

Please note that there is no deadline for nominations; you may decide to run at any time up until the moment of voting at our board meeting on May 21st. Any Yarmouth resident can vote, and all are welcome and encouraged to attend!

Committee membership is another great way to be involved in the community. We're seeking chairs (or co-leadership) for the Glow Run committee, the Welcome Committee, the Rowe Ice Cream Social Committee, as well as committee members for any and all events and fundraisers.

If you're interested in any capacity, from leadership roles to one-time event volunteering, please fill out this form and we will be in touch. We hope you'll join us!

Teacher and Staff appreciation luncheon is coming up!

We are excited to celebrate our incredible educators who show up each day with patience, creativity, and care. On Friday, May 8th at Rowe, the PTO, along with help from the community, will be hosting a lunch for the staff members as a way to recognize the heart and hard work your child's teachers and school staff members pour into the classroom.

Thank you to all who have already committed to a donation! There are some remaining slots available for anyone who is able to bring in a homemade or store-bought item. Some items of need are:

Pasta Salad (1)
Gluten Free Side/Salad (2)

If you are able to contribute, please click here to sign up.

We appreciate your support!
